One
of toughest parts of the bar to prepare for was the Multistate Bar Exam
a/k/a the MBE. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the MBE, it
consists of a series of multiple choice questions where there are
usually 2 or 3 answers that seem correct. From my point of view, BarBri
did a great job of teach the general rules of law, but many of the MBE
questions focus on obscure exceptions to these rules. This is where I
found the PMBR
course I took to be
helpful.
I
took a two-day PMBR
short course and felt it
was definitely worth the money, as my scores on practice exams really
jumped. I also found that the PMBR
practice exams were not only more challenging than those provided by
BarBri,
but also were a better representation of what I encountered on the bar. Also, PMBR's
practice books contained
thousands of questions. The one thing I
can’t emphasize enough is that the more practice MBE questions you can
work
through, the better. Not only will this
make you feel more confident for the exam, but it will also teach you
many of
the quirks that the MBE tests. Be sure
to not only answer the questions, but also to carefully read the
explanations
of the answers. Therein lies the true
value.
